The Sykes Pickavant 01426000 Thread Reforming Tool R60 M10-M60 is a versatile external thread reforming system designed to repair damaged threads from M10 up to M60. Using innovative non€‘cutting technology, it cold-forms the thread back to its original profile rather than removing material, allowing original parts such as shafts, axles and large bolts to be reused instead of replaced. The hand-operated process requires no external power source and is compatible with metric, fine and imperial threads when used with suitable roller packs. According to the product information, cold hardening during the process leaves the thread around 39% harder than a cut thread, while the smoother finished surface helps reduce corrosion risk and improves fatigue resistance. Roller packs are essential and supplied separately in interchangeable sets of three, allowing the R60 to be tailored to specific thread pitches.
