The Sykes Pickavant 01421600 Thread Reforming Tool R16 - M5-M16 is an external thread reformer designed to restore damaged threads without cutting. Suitable for M5 to M16 threads, it uses non€‘cutting cold€‘forming technology to return the thread to its original shape, allowing original parts to be reused rather than replaced. The process is completed by hand, with no external power required, and works on metric, fine and imperial threads when used with compatible roller packs. Because material is re€‘formed rather than removed, the thread surface is cold€‘hardened and can be up to 39% harder than a freshly cut thread, offering improved fatigue resistance. The smoother finished surface also reduces the risk of corrosion and extends service life. Supplied in a compact 270 x 220 x 50 mm package and weighing around 0.6 kg, this tool provides a practical solution for repairing costly components such as shafts, studs and suspension parts.
